Nike SB's storytelling has been unmatched in the Dunk Low space for two decades, and the SB Dunk Low Pro Som Tum (IB6206-701) is another entry that proves the sub-brand still has a serious creative ceiling. Inspired by Thailand's iconic papaya salad — som tum — this release weaves the dish's cultural roots into every material choice and hidden detail. The base comes in Canvas and Vachetta Tan, referencing the kratip, a traditional Thai hand-woven bamboo basket used for rice storage. Rectangular-patterned suede overlays at the toe and heel mimic that same woven texture at the material level. Bright Crimson laces and stitching bring the spicy, bold color energy of the dish itself, while Metallic Silver at the heel carries Thai script — a nod reportedly connected to the Thai-American heritage in Nike SB's extended creative family. Flip inside the tongue and you'll find the Som Tum dish and a rice bowl illustrated on each side. The sockliner features jasmine rice bag markings. None of this is surface-level theming — it's a fully realized concept executed with intention. Skate shops got it first on April 11, SNKRS followed April 14. This is an easy Dunk of the Year conversation entry.
